The instability is not due to the board but to the environment. BFOs are very sensitive to things like water in the soil, leaves and all manner of other things. The design of a BFO uses these instabilities to acquire a signal. If you make to too stable, it won't work at all. Nature of the beast.

Experienced BFO operators learn to listen for tonal variations. A skilled operator can tell you everything there is to know about a target before it's dug. Practice makes perfect. BFO detectors were the reason test plots were invented.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

the jetco instability was a problem with design,I own several of these clunker's, I used to own a garret BFO and never had a lick of trouble with stability, same with my old Whites BFO, but Jetco, they had problems, the cheap new detectors of today are far superior to the best BFO of yesterday,I still have many of the old ones,I collect them as curios of my youth.I dont have the manual for the Jetco, but its an easy machine to operate

Jetco only supplied a 4 page instruction fold over. Not much info how to turn on ect. Very little help. As GD said its a BFO detector so not useful in most places.  I have an old BFO I bought 25 years ago or more and still use from time to time relic hunting. Do a search on using a bfo that should help you get started.
