Sad to report that the founder of KellyCo has passed away. This, from KellyCo:

It is with heavy hearts that we pass on the news that Kellyco's founder, Stuart Auerbach passed away peacefully at his home with family by his side.

Stu was a father, grandfather, veteran, leader and friend to many and will never be forgotten. The core foundation of Kellyco was built on his vision to bring families together, preserving history and sharing the hobby with the world. He became a pioneer by supplying metal detectors to the masses and made it a household name.

Stu's impact on the treasure hunting community goes far beyond just selling products. Over his lifetime, he has built strong relationships with vendors and customers that extend across the globe. He made metal detecting more than just a hobby, he created the thrill for adventure for those to enjoy and share.

Kellyco Metal Detectors will continue to operate and service the metal detecting community under the same core values Stu started over 60 years ago. His vision will be maintained and strengthened through his son, David Auerbach and family.

Stu's legacy will continue to influence the treasure hunting community for years to come.

You can read more about Stu's life and accomplishments on our website.

In Loving Memory of Stuart Auerbach

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

He is the cover story in the July-August Gold Prospectors Magazine from the GPAA. Haven't read the story yet.
