Hi all! would like to here from others (if there are any?) on this forum who have built this excellent machine? i have finnished building one and have had great success with it! i made mine 17khz specs as its great for small ancient coins from my neck of the woods and am pretty pleased with it! disc is great and it has fantastic sensitivity  Smiley Smiley a tip for any would be builders out there and this pretty much goes for any machine you build yourself is... the making of the search coil! its a pain on DD coils when it comes to winding them spot on for the right inductance values but its worth it in the end and this is the secret with ib machines! get this right and your on to a very sensitive detector! i would not buy coils as in my opinnion they are not as good (tesoro's anyway) i think they build them conservatively to allow them to work well on most machines but not exceptional! cheers stavo.........

Hi
Yes built two of those a while ago now, the first was with components out the bag, the second checking each component for spec before installing, which from a bag of 50 caps your lucky to find two.
2nd build was a 15% improvement which is alot  on what already was a nice machine.

Your very right about the coils but equally important is certain parts of the TGSL circuit that require exact component values to produce top rate results, not whats stamped on the package hence why there was so many good and not so good builds out there, and thats why personaly I wouldnt buy kits.

Regards
