Josh we get asked this question dozens of time a week, and its hard to tell someone what detector is best for them but in your case I am going to to take a shot. First the 350 is one of the best all round detector and I see little need to upgrade. If you are going to keep the 350 then I suggest you look at the Tesoro Sand shark for hunting the beach. If you are only going to have one detector then look ate the Minelab line they make several all round detectors in several price ranges

The machine has been around since about 1998.   Hefe is a link to the Lost Treasure review:

You're welcome.

Josh, it is really hard to make a recommendation on a metal detector, especially for someone you don't know.   As long as the person stays with name brands (Garrett, Fisher, Whites, Tesoro, Minelab, etc) the quality will be there, but the look, feel, and features, that makes the detector really suited to the particular individual might not be.   The most any of us can reasonably be expected to do is to help you figure out what is important to you and help you decide how you should narrow down the choices.

Since you already have a Garrett 300 that you have been using for quite a while, I'd start with the following questions (and make sure you write the questions and the answers down so you can refer to them when you evaluate new detectors):

1)   What do you most like about the Garrett 300?  (be as specific as possible.  It is ok to list more than one feature, just try to list them in order)
2)   What do you least like about the Garrett Treasure Ace 300? (same rules, but make the thing you absolutely dislike the most is at the top of the list).
3)   What feature(s) that are not on the Ace 300 would you most like to have on the new detector and why? (and this can be things like lighter weight or more coil options).
4)   Realistically, what type of hunting do plan on doing with this new detector and will it replace or supplement the Ace 300?
5)   What's the most you can afford to spend?
6)   What's the most you want to spend? (NOT the same question as 5)
7)   Does it have to be a new in the box detector, or would a "gently" used detector fulfill your wants and needs?

Once you've honestly answered those questions, you should find your choices coming down to a handful of options.   Then it's a matter of finding out which of those are available at what price and (hopefully) taken at least a couple of them for a test spin.

BA

I too try to stay away from recommending any machine.

I will tell you I have my Eyes on the Garret AT-Pro after they get the bugs worked out.

Water Proof to 10Ft,  VLF  15KHz,  Dang good Idea for a all round machine.

But they seem to have some quarks showing up.

I am also looking at the AT PRO .
What kind of quarks are you talking about with the AT PRO?
I have heard nothing but good things about the machine and would like to know
of any issues they may be having with it before I decide to purchase it .

  Regards
