Faulsing.   Operator Error?

Wobbling Lower Shaft.

A few other minor things.

I would rather let it alone for a year and see what happens.

I just orded the AT Pro as my first detector.  It sounded like an all around machine for some prospecting and such.  I have heard that the unit has a problem with balance and someone is marketing a fix called a "Gizmo".  (an extension to the shaft, I guess)  I'm looking forward to playing with the AT when it comes to see how it feels.  Will be testing it in snowbanks this weekend. though.  (Good thing it's waterproof)

Well the AT Pro is a good price. I use it for comparison on Kellyco comparison chart. Does anyone know if there is a member discount for being a thunting member?

I have another machine in mind.

I know there is a minelab banner up top also. The Etrac is all the rage. Not sure I would recommend it for a newbie.

Im like homefire, I am waiting on the above mentioned to work out the bugds and sticking to proven machines.

Since I'm new I don't know about member discounts but I found the AT for less than $500 from a Garrett dealer.  I understand the idea of sticking to the tried and true.  But since I have never laid hands on a metal detector they are all completely new.  So I get to be one of the pioneers, eh?  That seems to be part of the appeal of detecting for me.

Dude, name any brand of metal detector and in a few minutes I could tell ya at least 3 models I would like to have and why.

Might try hunting with a local group and seeing what works in your area.

As BA said, look for things you would like in a detector.

I don't need a Visual Screen for most of my hunts, but a few choices I have for future purchase has these screens.

No one ever mentions the sponsor bar above. Some models I would not have wanted as a first machine due to the learning curve.

Buy what you can afford. The AT is flying off the shelf, so better order soon or you may have to wait. Good Luck.
