Please refrain from asking this type of question. There is no way to determine the range (assuming you mean depth of detection) of such a circuit until you build it. Build it and let the rest of us know your results. That's all there is to it.

By now enough of your depth questions have been answered by people telling you that there are too many factors involved. Even if you build it and get 3 inches on a 25c piece, there is no guarantee that anyone else can depend on that for their hunting. If you are looking for a machine that will detect down to a foot or so, you have selected the absolute worst schematic for that ever. Keep looking.

It'll go to a reasonable depth (8-9") on a 1" diameter coin.

It's super easy and cheap to build..... something to get you going?
