SilverDog has a kit available for the Surf PI for a good price.

I bought one and most impressed with the Parts, PCB and speed of delivery.

Cheap, Cheap it was.

This is a detector simple enough to play with and has simple solutions to improve it.

Comes with every thing you need except the Coil .

If you wish to extend the controls off board, you need to supply the pots.

I've see the surf PI on the silverdog's site. It's look great for the beach, but at the first time, I prefer making a inland PI which go very deep, and if possible with a discri, even if it's not the best...
thanks

A PI is a PI!    You can use this on land too if your willing to do without Discrimination witch NO PI has any ways.

One person has built it and can see a US 5 cents at 18"..

That's Par or better then a store bought unit.

That's pretty dang good to me.

What type of hunting are you looking for.

Hi Sebastos34

Your best bet is to go the root that Homefire suggested to you unless you are prepared to spend a lot more time and money I have build the surf PI from Silverdog and I must say that it works rather well although I have not used it for detecting yet (was busy with another project DBP2010) the testing that I did with it was rather impressive the only thing that I don't like about it is that you have to be in motion for detection but that's something that I will get used to very quickly when I start to use it. The other thing is the speed at which you swing it. Fast will give you a better detection depth than slow.

All the best
Xavier

Xavier

I seen a Mod on GeoTech to make it switchable from Motion to Non Motion some place .  Looking for it when I can.

Looking at the schematic, I can't see were it would be Motion only.

Confused.

Hi,
many thanks for your answer.
I'm going to do the surf PI. Otherwise, I've asked to silverdog for clone pi-2 and he seems to have that in stock soon. Maybe my third project...
Good Detecting to you!!!

Hi Homefire

If you find that link I would be interested to see what they did to it.

All the best

What section of the Schematic dictates MOTION ?   The sample section seems normal.  It could just be a Cap change out?  Intigrator?
