Hello PI metal detectors experts

My idea is to change the miner 4 PI metal detector IGBT which is (BUP314) to new one (IRG4PH50U).
Hint: IRG4PH50U IGBT was used in the base2-orion PI metal detector from the same company

,
and they said that this IGBT is best and powerful IGBT for PI Metal detectors.

Now, we also need to change the battery from (21.6V, 2Ah) to (21.6V, 3-4Ah).

What are the power circuit modifications to do these changes?

Attached the schematic circuit for the tow PI metal detectors Miner 4 and Base2-Orion.

Another question please…

Can we consider Miner 4 schematic circuit design attached is commercial system design?

If the answer no,

What is the difference between this design and the commercial design?

Best regards

waseem, all you have to do is simply replace the bup314 for your replacement, you dont need to increase battery current,
while the new igbt will handle the higher input current it will fun fine on the miner4 battery.
if you want more current simply fit a battery pack with more amps per hour, exactly the same as the other pack.
just download the datasheets for both igbt's and check the pin outs, just make sure G,C,E are in the correct holes, no other mods should be needed.
the two schematics look to be from the same source, i wouldn't worry about that, just swap out the bup 314 for the new IGBT, and check it works, then swap the battery pack for the higher current one (i dont think you need that).

Thanks for reply
I attached tow pic with the components which in my opinion have to be modified.
Resistor which supply power to the HCPL3120, resistor which connect the IGBT with pins (6,7) on the HCPL3120,
Damped Resistor which is parallel to the coil.
Best regards

Hello Champi

I removed your email address because it's not good to have everyone see it, you can PM the member with it if you like. Next I think that I would be nice of you to introduce yourself and tell us a bit more about yourself like what motivations you have regarding metal detecting.
