We had 2 good frosts this week so far. at least it doesn't take as long to warm up where you are, Homefire. This is the first sunny day for me this week, and I am stuck behind a desk. About those hubcaps, I actually have a real steel pan that I had to grab on vacation about 20 yrs ago. Never had a shovelful of dirt in it. Just a dream so far. I do think I'm still in kansas, Toto. We didn't have much of a Fall this year either.  A couple of days, then it was freezing and snowing.  We got one heavy snowfall, then it quit.  Had cold rain before that, now it has been below freezing or near it for the last week or so.  Now it looks like we are settling into winter...   !

I have several gold pans of various sizes,  suction bottles, speciment bottles, tweezers, magnets. etc. so forth, and so on! Just haven't used them in a while.  Hopefully I won't break anything next summer so I'm laid up all season and I will get out some more.  Unlike this summer!

Get some of that propane Homes!

hey! I've got 'buster' my trust-y rust-y 1991 f250 with the big 6. call him buster cause that's short for kidney-buster.
Now I have a puzzle for you both. Just took a couple of minutes to check out a property I just got permission to hunt; ground is mellow and soggy and I have found some nails. Some guys I know came over to watch, so I go to speaker to help explain the difference between trash and coin. then we go to a new target and the thing starts drifting on me and I had to get home without the find. Batteries may be going flat, that has happened to me before. Homefire, you know this machine, what just happened?

Brain Fart!   What machine is it.    Yes it sounds like your batteries were crapping out.

The cold can zap batteries too.      Not as much time as in the warm.

Boy, Poptop, I'm not familiar with that particular machine.  I think it's the price you pay for having observers that you want to teach! LOL!  Seriously, I think homefire is right, batteries losing their fire.  Over the years, when I've had control problems in predictable situations it has usually been bad batteries.  Good Luck!   Detecting

Homefire, it's the Garrett ADSIII with the little coil. Only been doing this for a month since coming across this thing at a garage sale. It was your encouragement that has kept me on trying to learn what this thing is trying to tell me (rather than look at newer machines just yet) I'm just not fluent in 'beep' yet. thanks guys. poptop

Was it cold out?

I'm thinking the batteries were on there way out.

Just try some new ones.

Those puppies love batteries.     Did the sound just start pooping out or what.

They audio is run two of the six batteries.

temp was 55-ish. Audio was holding up for a change. since I went back to headphones to save the batteries, I figured they may be holding up better than the circuit bats. I've found that it starts getting squirrely at 8.4 v that doesn't leave much drop before its time for fresh ones
