Thanks Cornelius

Just one more thing on the schematic there is a B between IC2 and IC5 and A on both oscillators what do they represent?Fr being the reference oscillator?
My reference coil is build using a plastic core with a screw in and out ferrite rod it goes from +-60uH to +-200uH will that do?

Regards
Xavier

Xavier . These points  A  B  are just measuring points and you can forget about them . Yes Fr is the reference frequency .  Your coil  ( 60 -200 uH ) is ok to use .  Let me know how you are doing . You know that the Leds will travel to the left and to the right . It will show you what kind of metal is close to the  detecting coil .   Cornelius

Thanks Cornelius

I will construct a coil now and let you know how I?m doing.
Cap C7 is a 470p but I did not find one so I used a 500p but that?s the only component that is not as per schematic it's on L2 but I guess that it should not matter much.

Best regards
Xavier
