Try not to look at this as a "do or die" situation. Over time, you WILL find enough to buy another machine. I bought my Groundhog back in the early 1970s and it is still in my arsenal and one of my most used machines. I've got better, lighter, technologically superior machines and they all serve a purpose. I've given away machines, bought new ones and just generally had a ball treasure hunting over half a lifetime.

Want to know how I afforded all of this? By finding treasure. Only my very first detector ever cost me money from my primary income source.

Stop dragging your feet and just visit KellyCo and buy one based on your feelings and their advertising. If you wonder about the machine you are considering, call them. They give impartial advice over the phone and if you order one at the same time, you can be out looking for your next detector, er, I mean treasure, by tomorrow afternoon.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.
