If a person needs a waterproof machine then the MX-S is the way to go but for all other venues the MXT is the way to Go.

End user independent reports will come out sooner than later.
What i want to know is how will perform on salty water with heavy mineralized ground and lots of black sand.

Well I think it is going to be pretty close to useless in black sand for a simple reason because I think  the SAT setting are pre set and go from 0 to 6  where as the MXT is 100% Variable, so what happens if the ground comes somewhere in between those 6 pre sets then the machine is not going to work properly,

Also they are claiming the pin point mode as one of its program modes and claiming it has 7 search modes, Well in that case you could claim that the MXT All Pro has 9 modes if you claim the pin point mode as a search mode.

I suggest it will be just fine. It has automatic ground balancing and a beach mode. However, it is NOT a water machine and cannot be used in the surf. The box is weatherproof, not waterproof meaning light rain won't hurt it much but diving or getting it swamped will most likely damage it.

I do my most “successful” detecting in the water up to my neck deep. Idiot
I use a full length wetsuit a mask and snorkel and a modified shovel with a 1.9 meters handle.
That’s the reason I want the waterproof type, but I want to make sure than will work with my type/conditions of detecting.

This one is waterproof down to 60 meters.

I have both Tiger Shark and Sand Shark and both perform superbly in black sand, wet or dry. KellyCo will ship to Australia and have some very nice package deals and prices well below retail.

I use a sea-hunter mark ii, (PI) and there are places that have “difficulties” to cope with the mineralized ground and black sand.
Add to it iron lots of iron and it become a very difficult task to do any detecting.
I never used a Tesoro before and been a White’s fun for day one I thought I will give the MX sport a go.
But I need to be convinced that will do the job first before I buy one.

As you can see, I also have a Sea Hunter. I like the Tesoro better but still use both. Black sand is not a problem with any of my 3 diving detectors. Hardening bones in my inner ear keep me from diving any more due to pain at depth but I still work the water where I can stand. Salt water to knee deep and fresh water to snorkel depth. The best hunting ever for lost items.
