Coin Identification
(1/1)
daveo1961:
I have a coin I'm trying to identify. It is 2 centimeters across. It is hammered silver and I believe from medieval Europe. On one side is a small cross in the center. At each cross angle are Fleur DI Li's, while the tops of the cross have small crowns. On the flip side is a large crown over what appears to be 6 ornate, interlinked letter C's, 4 on top of 2. On the side with the cross is a date that is either 154? or 174? but I am not sure that hammered coins were being produced in the mid 1700's. I am tried to post a photo of both sides but I can't seem to post just the photos so I hope the description is enough info. Any help would be greatly appreciated. [fight] :-
I finally managed to get pictures to up load. I hope this helps you help me id this coin.

Daveo nothing jumps out at me, but the pictures are a little blurred (I know size limitations play a big part). Did you use a digital camera or a scanner to take this pictures? If you used a camera and have access to a scanner, see if you can scan directly from the coins....it's amazing how much focus and detail you can get that way.
