nice dagger. do not try to remove the stain and surface imperfections from the blade as it will significantly reduce the value if you should.

Very nice condition. My father served in Germany and has one although the hanging strap is not in as good of condition as yours appears to be. He had always told us that it was a German Luftwaffe officers dagger, but no more details. The wire braid around the white ivory (?) handle from blade to pommel always intrigued me, and the detail that went into its making is excellent. Great find!!

I had on just like that that was British SAS.   Sure was a gook knife.

It was made to do Ugly stuff like stick between the ribes and mess around a bit.

Homie I got the US equivelant to that , SF / Navy Seals knife, not as long or ornate, but does the same damage.
