I have yet to find any reason in my area to have the ground set to normal!! Not sure where you are, but some of minelabs default setting take it back to normal. Difficult has worked much better for me anyway. If you find it falsing for more than a few swings and in auto sensitivity I just change the ground setting to difficult and all is well. But me being hard headed like I am I always have to give it a shot first.

I did read "(here we go, I don't feel like searching for it) Google "E-trac see through" or something like that. You will find some explanations of what the trash density setting does. From what I could figure out it changes the target prioritization. What I read made sense and if it is true it's a pretty neat feature. If it doesn't rain this weekend I am going to try it in the back yard. I will let you know my results.

OK I googled it. There was a few hits. Do the same search at minelabowners.com they go into a little more detail.
