Aloha,

Just bought a SD2200d and need to hear from some users out there to see what kind of tips they can offer for a newbie on this PI. i am a long time user of the Whites GMT and needed to go with the PI for some deeper and harder to find targets. Any help will be greatly appreciated and welcomed.

Mahalo in advance.

Aloha and be safe out there.
Stan aka Ka'imi

The only thing I know about it, SD2200 it is forerunner of GPX series. However, it's no longer manufactured .
IMHO I believe that the information on how effectively work with it, you can find in the description of the early versions of GPX, for example 3000 or 3500.

Try here. The guy who does the mods also answers questions. He's a member here although he only comes by infrequently these days.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Aloha,

I have read the book several times and even watched a video on the tuning and ground balance BUT:

I still seem to be having problems with interference from helicopters occasionally flying over Gold Basin. Plus any recommendations on a set of headphones, I currently am using the Jolly Rogers that I use on my Whites GMT with great results. Any hints on settings! You name it, I want to know!!

Aloha,
Stan aka Ka'imi

What kind of interference? Do you hear their UHF radios or just static?

With this machine are you using it with the audio boost on? on the 3000 the level adjust control effects the disc and also the ground balance , with your machine it has a tune pot have you tried re tuning when this interferance takes place have you noticed if it is the same helicopter all the time or are there differant ones flying around because it cold be the noise supression on the helo it's self and not you're machine , I've fired up the 3500 right in the in town and it never had these problems,
