The first accessory you should consider for this machine is one of the books written on this machine by Clive James Clynick. His books on the Excal are written for both the beginner and veteran. If you have been using an Excal for a while, using the methods he writes about will make you think you've just purchased a brand new machine! The Excal has depth capability that nearly equals some PI machines, it's that good! I've read his books and use his methods and highly, highly recommend them for the novice and seasoned pro. If you put in the effort to learn, you will be rewarded many times over the price of your detector.

I think I 'll go with the hip mount....lol. In the water the Excal II is easy but on land it gets heavy for me. Maybe I just need the workout.

Hi Pistolpete.I took your advice and purchased two books from Clive James about the excalibur. I'm recovering from surgery and will read these books. After i've healed up I will then buy me the excalibur and hit the water. Thanks for the post.

The audio CD on ear training for the excalibur is very useful.
