I have owned 4 of these blue beauties over the years, circa 1994.
The recent one pictured was mod'd with a Tesoro shaft and Musketeer Advantage coil also super tuned.
It was a deepseeker for sure. It has been sold and the new owner found a Civil War button at 19" using the orig.
Super Searchcoil.

I should have kept that sucker. Managed to find another that was damaged during shipping, now a winter project.

Winter project, no longer a winter project. Fixed it! It was only a bad on/off switch portion of the sensitivity pot.
Soldered up two wires & a slide switch to the circuit board where the switch pins were soldered to the circuit board.

I just posted a question about the Sterling. What did you do to get such good depth with yours?

Peace

Sean

Minelabs all have good depth to start. When you tweak or tune them using the controls, you modify the signal or the return signal and each step away from the full monte will give you better discrimination while diminishing depth.

I dig everything. No discrimination for this guy. Give me raw power. I feel like Tim "the Toolman" Taylor!

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.
