Just ran across this post on one of the minelab forums and thought I'd add it here. The post had been made by a Minelab dealer.  Post follows:

There is someone on E-bay selling under the name Theoldminer who is illegally selling Minelab products. They are NOT an Authorized Minelab dealer

Stringfrenzy

Are they selling the counterfeit products that have been floating around the past year?

Minelab dealers have always been very territorial and complain if a customer buys a detector on a vacation from another area. They have tried to stop second hand sales on eBay for years without success. If they are real Minelab products, there isn't any way of telling by looking at his name if he is a dealer or not. If they are fake, that's quite a different story.

Thanks for that link RR. According to the thread over there, he's not committing fraud at all just not complying with Minelab's Draconian terms of selling. Oh, the horror!

People who purchased from him got genuine, brand new Minelabs. That's not fraud at all. If he was a dealer, that's against Minelab's policy. If he bought them and is not a dealer, it's not anyone else's business what he does as he sells his units.

This entire topic is a waste of time and could be giving an innocent person a bad name for all the wrong reasons. Fraud would be not delivering what was promised. This isn't even close to fraud.
