I got an OLD new toy.
I am the owner of an ML SD2000. Smiley
Looks like that has done a 1000 miles and there are scuff marks on the control box, cracks on the coil, and I couldn’t test it because the battery was dead,
But it was an offer I could NOT refuse. Crazy Crazy
The plan is to replace the old 6V-4.5Amp battery with Li-Ion cells, (I got many CGR18650C out of old laptop batteries) and use it on the beach right on the water line.
I worked out the mode on paper, I need a few parts, and hopefully I will have it up and running with in few days.

A bad day at gold prospecting or metal detecting is better than a good day at work.

Here it is.
the plan is to replace the big brick lead acid battery with the small light weigh Li-Ion,
and be able to get 2-3 hours of detecting time on one charge.

cool   i have sourced a lot of components from china hard to beat the shipping costs they must be subsidized by the gov. I can get parts  in the U.S but shipping but shipping from china is way cheaper sometimes even free. Wink

the battery is  very light weight and there is no need for a back pack. the head phones now plug to there own socket.
