The Jenie is out of the bottle.
The new Minelab GPZ7000 is here

Hot of the rumor file.

Minelab have announced that their new detector is soon to
Hit our shores.  Not a lot is known about it yet but apparently
a leak  in  the USA prompted  Minelab to make a public announcement well before
they had originally intended. The exact release date is unknown as yet
even  the  Minelab  dealerships  do  not  have this information.
The  price  is  being  guesstimated  in  the  industry as being somewhere between $7000
$10,000. We can reveal that it is using innovative  new  technology  that  has  never  been
seen before. It  all  adds  up  to  an  exciting  several
weeks(?) until the GPZ 7000 is released and hopefully  even more  exciting  times
after  its  release  as  prospectors  go  over their old patches and dig up more gold
the  older  Minelab  detectors  will  no doubt drop in price, especially the GPX
5000s as there are a lot of them around. However, this does depend on the price
of the new machine and, ultimately, the performance. Only time will tell

Wonder if Kawasaki is going to like the fact that it's been called GPZ?

Prices as high as $10,500 have been rumoured , also a date of 18th Feb as a release date of more info pertaining to price and specifications but at this stage a market release date is unknown . The Miners Den one of Minelab's dealers who have outlets in 4 states here in Aus are now taking $500 down payments to secure a 7000 when they are released but they have not divulged the total price , what the , be a brave or a wealthy man to lay down a deposit on an item without knowing the full price . Just the same there is plenty of interest and if they are as good as some think and
DO gain 40% extra depth , then they will fly off the shelves ..cheers Mick

I guess if you have to ask how much they are you can't afford one.
