I own a baracuda, which bites deep as a pulse machine. 18kt gold necklace 22 inches long from over 20 inches of sand  in the water.  I have used the excal with the 8 inch coil.  I found that it did not bite as deep as the Cuda, but it had better discrimination and was dead quietl until it found something.  if minelab upos the number of frequencies, then there is no douibt it will beat my cuda hands down.  I wait for them to do that. Until then its Cuda time

I don't know about adding more frequencies,it might give too many false's?

It seems like Minelab would have came out with a 28 Frequency Excalibur 3....... years ago if 28 frequencies was so great.
Or maybe that was the reason for the recent price increase on the Sovereign and the Excalibur 2 to make way for a new non digital 28 frequency Sovereign GT Plus and Excalibur 3?

Only time will tell.

JP I have heard a whisper and they ain't said yet but look how long the GT has been here, and its a great machine
now I think we may be getting a new one coz that one is the longist serving sovereign to date, So maybe they have
listerned and give us some new bit on the next one, and a certain man i know has been out field testing, if you get
what i meen and also another machine has just ceased production, and I can't wait for that.

Yeah,I think something is going to break just in time for summer.

The price increase could have been used to clear out a warehouse of Sov Gt's and Excal 2 's.

And to get people programmed to pay more for a newer model.

It would make since for them to push the excal to the limit and that would mean bringing the Gt up to equal fire power minus being waterproof.

I hope that is the case but a deeper Sov or Excal might rain on paying $5,000 for the 4800?

Yeah, I agree I have spent many hours with those machines and the Muskateer advantage and that is my all time favorite
simple, clean mannor about it and power,

I think that I heard that as will.

Great technology but they keep trying to wrap it in the cheapest plastic they can with a " new " look.

I think that's the reason for something being discontinued every other year?

Lets face it Sovereign Gt does a lot than go to the Etrac Than HUGE price difference SD/GPX series, everything else is just crap wrapped in a different box.

Yeah thats right, I found a deep coin with my GP but my Sovereign found the deepest small item on land I have ever found
on land and that was with the standard 10" coil, and also i bought every other coil available for it out of the two major
companies and Coiltek came up the best, it cost me thousands to do the tests and 8 months of my life but i got the ansewer
and people who just find deep stuff have done so by chance, where i did side by side testing for 8 to 12 hrs a day.
but i killed the media hype.
