Just checking in to see where everyone from Mississippi is at and what's going on detecting wise in your neck of the woods... Heck, you can even tell us a little about yourself....

I'm here in the Free State of Jones aka Jones County Mississippi and detect all over South Mississippi, translated, I'll hunt anywhere I can get a permission... I'm not out looking for any one thing as I just enjoy detecting and seeing anything interesting come up out of the ground.

My current primary detector is a White's MXT Pro and I use either the 950 (9 1/2" Concentric Coil) or the 5.3(6" Concentric Coil), but am in the market for a coil that will give me more depth than those... For those who might use this machine I use the Coin/Jewelry Mode, Ground Balance in Lock, Gain between 3 & +3 Depending on the ground and what I am doing, The Dual Control between 2 & 3... I enjoy this machine and it has been good to me so far, though it seems that i still learn something about it every-time I use it... My Pin-Pointer is a Garrett Pro Pointer II and though I'd be lost without it, it has been quirky ever since I took it out of the box new and some days It's hard not to stomp it into many a piece, when it works right it's great excluding the side scan, but when it's acting up it's useless and very annoying... Other detectors I own are the White's Spectrum XLT, a White's Coin Master, A Bounty Hunter QDII, a Fisher 1280X Aquanot, and a Garrett GTA 350(This is the Machine that got me back into Detecting)...

I am also a member of a local detecting group called the South Mississippi Relic Team, we meet the 3rd Thursday of each month and have group hunts as frequently as we can get permissions, plus there is almost always someone available when to hunt with if/when someone needs/wants a hunting partner... It's a great group of folks and we not only share info and finds, we just have a really good time anytime we get together...

Here's the link to our Facebook Group which is open to the Public, so you do not have to join it to check out what we do down here...
