I have found an 1570 coin with mark of SANTI JOSEPH or something, i'll post pics later.... any comments? I'm from the Philippines. As far as history is concern, Magellan, who discovered the Philippine Island, came here 1521, so I think this is so much exciting!  Shocked

Now...the coin has been revealed! Please hold on to your seats and see this......

Anyways, I would like to know what is the meaning of all those written on the coin especially on the "siete llaves".  Shocked

Siete llaves means Seven Keys. Roma, of course, means Rome. It looks to me like a silver coin from Italy. Here's one dated 1770, or 200 years later than yours. Looks like you may have found a real treasure there.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

I have commented that coin before, it has a refering year, not the year it was produced, the fonts being used are way to modern.
Also the coins back in the 1570 was not casted, the were hammered or punched.

I think this is a pilgrimage medal, being sold at the most "important" holy / sacred places, the are still beeing sold today out of special vending machines at some of the churches in rome.

I don't want to bring rain over your parade but it's definetly not 440 years old.
