Hi Bugfly

That information helps me, as i collect coins.

The mentioned Gold Sovereign Coin with it's mint-mark " SA " and the coins year date of " 1925 " would be the last of the Colonial mint issue gold coins.

They were produced in Pretoria in South Africa hence the " SA " marking. They began producing Sovereigns and also half Sovereigns in 1923 - 1932 during " King George the 5th " reign.

These same Sovereigns were also produced for " King Edward 8th " but because of his abdication, they were never issued for use.

Hope this helps you.

regards

bugfly, the way you pull stuff out of the ground with that F-4, you're going to wear that book out.   (well, at least you'll be able to pay for a new copy  Wink )
