i saw that and i want to share with you all mybe helpfull easy to build  Grin

A simple tester transistors and other electronic components

This simple tester is used to test bipolar transistors NPN and PNP can rehearse with him but other semiconductors and passive components, such as MOSFETs, diodes, triacs, thyristors, LEDs, switches etc. You can also check the leakage current of capacitors. Working with him is very simple. Principle tester is evident from the diagram, LEDs (any type) as an indicator of current between the "+" and "-". LED 1 is connected through the transistor so sensitively indicates very little current. LED 2 indicates a higher current. The switch connects based on positive or negative voltage across the resistor. The switch is not necessary if you do not idle terminals touch each other.
• NPN transistor collector connect to the terminal "+" emitter to "-". The switch is set to "NPN". For the good of the transistor at the moment LEDs are off. Then connect the terminal to the base B, both LEDs should illuminate. PNP transistor is tested similarly, just switch is switched to "PNP" emitter "+" a collector "-".
• In FETs, MOSFETs, and other unipolar transistors, in the case of N-type S connects to the "-" D "+" to G and to "B". When you switch to "NPN" lights both at "PNP" no. U P interchanging S and D, then switch works in reverse.
• When testing thyristors are used only terminals "+" and "-". The anode is connected to the "+" and cathode to "-". Nothing is off. U type PNPN for a while together with G '+', both LED lights up and glows even after disconnecting G. U type NPNP (rather unusual type thyristor) G is associated with "-" everything else is the same.
• Testing triac is similar to that of thyristors, but tested in both directions, or even in all quadrants.
• Diode Testing: Anode "+" and cathode "-" LED lights up, upside is off anything.
• Testing of LEDs anode "+" and cathode "-" test LED lights.
• Testing bulbs, switches, buttons, coils, cables: Use the terminals "+" and "-" test the conductivity of the filament, switches, buttons, spools or cable. Terminals "+" and "-" is used simply as a conductivity tester anything.
• Capacitors capacitor is connected to the "+" and "-" and when it can not charge anything on, otherwise it is punctured or a leakage current. Greater capacity may charge more than the LED will turn off. U electrolytes and other polar capacitors observing the polarity!

Here's one I use
1. Displaying the results to a 2x16 character LCD-Display.
2. One key operation with automatic power shutdown.
3. Battery operation is possible since shutdown current is only about 20nA.
4. Automatic detection of NPN and PNP bipolar transistors, N- and P-Channel MOSFET,JFET, diodes, double diodes, Thyristors and Triac.
5. Automatic detection of pin layout of the detected part.
6. Measuring of current ampli cation factor and Base-Emitter threshold voltage of bipolar transistors.
7. Darlington transistors can be identify by the threshold voltage and high current amplication factor.
8. Detection of the protection diode of bipolar transistors and MOSFET.
9. Measuring of the Gate threshold voltage and Gate capacity value of MOSFET.
10. Up to two Resistors are measured and shown with symbols --[ ]-- and values with up to four decimal digits in the right dimension. All symbols are surrounded by the probe numbers of the Tester (1-3). Resolution of resistor measurement is now up to 0.01 , values up to 50M are detected.

That's very nice but without the schematic and hex file it's useless to us. If you have a link to this project you could post it.

Ok here's the PCB layout and hex, I upload it here, use precision resistor  for best accuracy.

There are a lot of programmer you can use, USBasp, AVRISP, USBTiny, AVR910 and for the software
I use MkAVR (it support most of all avr programmers), ponyprog for AVRISP and other simple programmers.
