I have a military coil, at least I think it's mil it's OD green, that has two seperate coils with a 4 conductor cable.  There is no connection between the coils that I can discern, don't have an X-ray to see what's inside the totally encapsilated coils.  The figures on the coils is as follows: 1 coil is 10" the other is 7 3/8", coil 1, the larger I assume, is .453 mH @ 2.56 ohms.  The other coil is .248 mH @.83 ohms.  Now for the wild idea, hook up the larger coil to the Tx side of PI and the smaller coil to the Rx side.  Naturally there would be a blanking pulse that would turn off the Rx during Tx time plus a little for Tx decay.

Does this sound as if it would work or am I piss'n into the wind?

Yup they be measured with my Tenma LCR meter.  Reason I asked is I haven't seen a two coil PI before.

Lots of PI use DD Coils, Concentric too.

Never seen a coplanar coil don't think that one works out much.

All PI shut down the Receive until the Coil settles down after Transmit Pulse.

Look at the Hammer Head .    That one shows how they do it .

I'm not sure why that coil has so much difference on the Ohms?

Difference in Wire Size I think.

Do you have any Idea what machine it came from?

Some cool stuff dude, the first one on the last page has the p/n but the qnty./req. is 125, me don't think they would need 125 coils for 1 unit.  The second link hit the nail on the head, the coil is a dead ringer for mine, looks like that is the unit that it belongs to.  Mucho thanks for the info.
