Hi Eugene, I realise that you cannot display the Ace 250 Schematic while it is still in production, but are you able to give any clues as to how the reduction in power is achieved. For instance is it running at a lower voltage or reduced current or simply with the use of additional resistors in circuit.
I already have the larger coil, but have found that although it does detect marginally deeper it is not as sensitive and pinpointing is not as accurate. I tend to have to expand the holes I dig much more often.
Regards Mike.

Hello Mike Int2Mud............On a foreign website , I read that if you disconnect the coil-shielding from the #2 wire inside the search-coil , it improoved the ground-balance and increased the depth like crazy without effecting discrimination or pin-pointing !!............THIS CHEAP SEARCH-COIL is your first problem !!!.......If your machine is not improoved just re-solder the shield back on . I will post more on this later............Regards...............Eugene52

Thanks Eugene, that info was most helpful and I certainly will be trying it in the near future. Thanks also for the other postings on the Ace 250 subject.

I would like to try this mod. So  are you saying one should open the coil  or just the connector on the end of the cable? I see that pin 1 is the ground but cant find a place that has the shield connected to pin 2. So A little more info would be great if you have any. Thanks
