Does anyone have any ideas for getting more depth from a Ace 250? Or are stuck with what we have? I have searched everywhere for something but can only find mods for volume control and backlights...

Peter, I have noticed a difference when I change from alkaline battery to a rechargeable battery's. Clean coil cover, little tape holding the coil wire near the coil.....dont know if that will help. I read something about detuning a machine, is that possible for a ACE 250?  I have even taped some metal to the coil to see if it gave different results.

I did watch a minelab video the other day. It was a training session in Western Australia. They said it was too hot there for our VLF  machines. It was rather lengthy, and they did eventually find gold. But it was funny as they started off finding dirt, lol. After that video I have crossed minelab off my wish list. These where the GTX5000 or something.

I finally broke down and bought a lil more machine and cant wait till it gets here. Lots of good machines out there after the new digging tv shows. People already unloading em.

If I remember right the 250 does not have volume control.

You may find this limiter useful to hear targets you may not be able to hear so well.

Homie, thanks for that diagram it does look good  Great I have found very few mods for the Ace 250, which surprises me as I am sure there could be something to help with sensitivity / depth etc.... I will definitively keep looking for more  Great

I did think that as the coil as a circuit board on it  No no! guess that is the way to stop people from copying their coils Thumbs Down

Peter, there are two tricks for the 250 that you can try. First, when you turn it on, hold it about 6" above the ground as it times in. Then, slow down your sweeps. Listen carefully for those really faint sounds and that will be your deepest targets. Learn your machine that way and you will maximize your depth.
