I got the V4 with my order and I agree it is crap. I can't believe that the retail price for that thing is over $100. What it the harbor freight model?

Just finished the button/vibrator mod on my Cen Tech and I'm liking it. Smiley
Now I can leave the headphones on in all metal and pinpoint too! Grin
I found a new home for the old pinpoint button from the Cibola...much more reliable button! Wink
I can see where you might want more distance if your detector won't pinpoint like a Cibola but I really like being able to sweep though loose dirt quickly and getting a tight, localized signal. (sucker actually located a BB for me! Shocked
Once again, I say you can't beat this pinpointer for the bucks! Kiss

Yep your spot on.

When I un-wraped this unit my first impressions were it was a cheap and very nasty product and not worth the advertised over inflated price. Having a design and engineering background I can say there is very little if any of either in these units, their shape, size and construction are not practical to make them fit for the purpose they were supposed to be intended for. Its almost like a cheap circuit kit from the local Tandy store and has now become a kids toy on our home for them to use when we go detecting.

I think its an unfortunate detraction from the wonderful effort the folks at Kellyco make in suppling quality products. I personally think they would be better off replacing the AutoMax Option with some useful books, DVD's, Digital Gold Scales or giving a good discount on the Garrett Pro-Pointer.

I was interested when I saw this post topic because the Cen-Tech sounds interesting, however have not been able to locate anyone on the net that sells it.

Maybe someone could "point" me in the right direction. However I think the Garrett pointers will be hard to beat even if they do cost more.
I have learnt over the years when buying equipment to buy the best you can afford and look after it.
This of course includes doing your research well.

Wand diameter about 5/8"
Wand length 6"
Box 4 1/2" X2 5/8" X1"
From the tip back about 3" it has about equal sensitivity.
It's good for about an inch, set to max sens.
I find it perfect for day or night detecting and it's the bomb at finding tiny stuff fast!
Don't expect it to go any deeper without serious mods.

I was just thinking of a way to pick a randum winner.    I'll figure out some way.

 Wink

If someone bought more then one ticket that would not work fare.
