Go Up Go Down

This may already be posted, if it is delete this one. Ive always taken new coils and headphones and used hot glue to put on the wire that goes into the housing. This strengthens it and seals it. Also I dont use coil covers......they get dirty and can cause your detector to get out of whack. Instead I coat all my coils with rhino liner, or the rubber coating used to dip tools in, THEN after its dry, I spray the bottom of my coils now and then with silicone spray to create a slicker surface You'll want to put racing stripes on your detector once you try this!!  Here's a couple pics of the hot glue, be careful not to melt the wires, just put it on the base and work it up the wire quickly and not thick.  After I go get some more bedliner spray or, tool coating I'll post pics on how I do that. I wouuld now but I just opened my can and SOMEONE didnt put the lid back on tight last time he used it!!  So I have to get more sometime to finish my new coil   Detecting

I had not thought about putting that type coating on my coil, but it should work very well. Thanks for the tip.

Do you put a thick coat of that rhino liner on there or just enough to cover it avision?

I was thinking about making a video on safely removing and cleaning the cover.
Broke my first one into about 5 pieces taking it off. Angry
The new one comes off every time it gets dirty, using great care and a steak knife.
The stock cover will give a little extra cushion and support for bumps or drops. Wise

In the feild if you set the coil in the sun for about 5 minutes to warm up , I can pop mine off no problems.

In the winter, Hot Coffee works.   LOL!

I ran hot water over mine & added dish soap, but that thing was cemented on so tight because it had never been removed before I got my used Cibola.
Could NOT get it to come off in one piece after 20 min of careful tapping and prying. Cry
Now, I just use a dry fingernail brush to clean the coil and cover, then snap it back on and go. Smiley
