After some digging around on the site, do not find any help on art work for the panel controls. Any picts of scanned panels or other art work done to make the diy projects look more professional or user friendly would be nice.

just make tonertransfer method like for pcb etching

printout mirrored, and just use a laminator or heat iron to transfer the desgin to you metal frontpanel

for plastic frontplates i would try the water decal method

for myself i did it with plain label paper (adhesive)
und than a soft finish with clear laquer spray

On a metal enclosure Box you can do the Toner Transfer with a heat gun.  Remember you need to photo copy in Revers.  Most copiers give you this option  .   It works most well making a PC board.  I like the Decal thing.  The Decal sheets are cheap and more then available.

Great methods for putting the art work on the box. What do you use for the art work itself? MS Paint or one of the other drawing apps should work, but how do you get the numbers like the ones on Bernte_one's box. (Like the warning label idea by the way!)

If you use Open office you'll have a great drawing program that comes with it. And it's free

No problem mate. I use it all the time and the nice thing about it is that you can save your work in just about any format that you like.

I have Open Office too. Nice set of programs. I also use MS Paint a lot. See the attachment I did as a test one time.

A bad day at gold prospecting or metal detecting is better than a good day at work.
