Wow that's very well done. I have just about never used it but now having seen what you did with it I'm going to give it a go.

If you want to know some secrets I have learned, would be glad to pass them on.

How did you inport the images?

Well, I am pleased that you were fooled into thinking they were imported. They all are works of my own hand and a little magic trick that has somehow crept into MS Paint. (another little secret I will share) . It seems that after you create a pix in Paint ,save it, and reload it, Paint has done something to your work and optimized (or something) it.  IF you just draw a single 1 pixel line, save it, then reload it, you will see upon reloading that it is not just a single black line, but has shading to it. Also it is no longer all black, but pixelated with multiple colors. You can see this better if you use the magnifier on the line. (400x to 800x) It does it on all of my computers. Never did that in Win98. It's a pleasing effect, but if you do the artwork over several days and have to edit it, it's a bear. How do you get the shine on the surfaces? Simple. Just draw your object,  then draw a single white, or lighter shaded line through the object.
Open the attachment in Paint, and click on the magnifier on the bottom right corner and look at the objects and you will see what I mean.
I am a self taught artist and didn't start until I was 60.

By the way, you can import images by several ways. You can go through the drop down files box, or you can cut and paste. You can resize pictures for forums, do a little bit of Faux Photoshop, and add text to photos you have imported. There is no manual for Paint, so I had to learn by doing and some help from a newbie teacher(me). There is no help function in Paint. If you have ever used PaintShop you will notice that this a watered down version of that.

I magnified (400%) of the image and am posting it here so you can see how it was done.

Nice art work. I had Paint but now have Open Office when I got this computer put together. Trying a couple of ideas for the panel art. The hardest thing I am running into is coming up with the dial art. Curved graduations 0 - 10 and the | marks. Found lots of picts of knobs and "vol" control markings but can't seem to find something that can be edited. If I can find something clean enough to do a real cut and paste and resize on a copier then do decal would work very well and may be the way to go. Maybe if everybody put a clean copy of art work here us newbies would have a place top start with our designs. The Hammerhead logo is a good example.

Carl you should start a new thread on the subject of MS Paint, you could add some examples and how too's . I think that a lot of us would benefit from it.

Be sure to post some of your art when you do Xavier. You know, a long time back when PaintShop Pro was the big thing, there used to be whole sites dedicated to works of art produced by artists with the program. Some pieces you could not tell if it was one by a computer or painter. Wonder what ever happened to that fad?

Right now I am too busy with detecting and prospecting. but I relish the idea, and I will give it considerable thought. Might inspire some new Vincent VanGough. I haven't done it in awhile, but I am sure I will get it back. Putting things that are in my brains into writing so that others will say "Oh yeh, now I get it" is sometimes a daunting task.

Here 'ya go. A greater detailed construction file for an XR71 is large (6 pages). Let me know with an e-mail address if you need it Detecting Detecting, or maybe Christian can assist. Please forward/send to him. I still can't figure out how to add extra names to a reply.  Christian: this is a re-type of the file I mentioned that "Vanished" on me.

Use dry transfers, iron-ons, decal kits or molecular transportation if available in your part of the galaxy. Any which way you choose will do it. The front panel plate is as actual size as you can get it.
