Making a hip mount for a Fisher 1270 and fisher say no such thing as a extension cable for a 1270, so I asked them if they could make one or make my cable longer they said it wont work to buy a new coil w/7" cable. Asked if the wire on a 3' and 7' were the same and he said yes, I said I switch between my 8" w/3' and 10.5 w/7' with no problem, he said it still won't work. Any help out there.

I answered this in another thread. You really should avoid asking the same question in two places. Have patience. Some of us do sleep for a couple of hours you know. And we also like to get outdoors once in a while.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Don't apologize, mate. Just don't do it again or we'll bury you alive and you'll have to wait for some detectorist to uncover you in a couple of years. Make sure to keep some metal in your pockets.

That's how we do things around these here parts. Grin

Did you understand my reply to your question? You should ring them back and ask if there are any active components in the coils. When coil wire length is critical, that's normally the reason why.
