Hi all,
I'm not the smartest cookie  Idiot on the block when it comes to electronics, despite having built every project in Dick Smith's funway series. ( Aussie members would know what I mean.) My Question is does anyone know if I can have my old Crossfire coils from my Cx Master Hunter rewired to suit my Ace350 ? I never even used the 12.5" one. Seeing as how the operating principle is basically the same, I cant think of any logical reason why I  Idiot couldn't. Also is  it something I  Idiot could do at home or is it a job best left to the pro's  Teach?
Thanks in Advance.

That's a good question and will require research on your part. The impedance is the important factor here as well as the coil configuration. The first thing you should do is write to or call tech support at Garrett. Discuss it with a technician. They've been very helpful to me in the past.

Thanks for the speedy reply GD, there you go and I was thinking it was just a matter of getting the wiring right, lol.

Impedance is three factors. Resistance, capacitance and inductance. That trio of factors and how they react to the frequency of your detector are all important to the fuctioning. Ask Garrett. They'll give you a straight answer.
