These are very useful but be warned that all three attempt to get you to use their downloading system by getting you to press what looks like a link to the sheet you want. Be careful because once it gets installed into your browser, Google, Yahoo, Bing and other search engines may no longer be available on your browser.

I prefer downloading from the manufacturer directly. They have the most current sheets anyway since they write them. You may also find some useful application notes to go along with them or warnings about availability and so forth. More than once I have designed a part into a product that has been discontinued and before it even goes into production, I had to substitute it. Those datasheet repositories almost never tell you that a product has been discontinued.

Don't get me wrong, those sites are very handy but on all three, the user needs to scroll down until they see the Adobe PDF symbol next to the document along with the part number they are using to be sure they are not accidentally installing that PDF search bar by accident. I spent a lot of time removing one from a friend's computer. Ugh.

Have you tried RS Components Design Spark?

It's fairly easy to learn and for the very lazy designer, the BOM (Bill Of Materials) can order the parts for you if you want. For the most part, all of the parts are available from RS.

Hi Cool2010

To my knowledge Proteus is NOT a free software nor is Altium designer, Eagle and neither is the Sprint Layout. This being the case I will remove the links that you posted as we can not have them on the forum. This needs to be done in order to protect the forum from legal actions that may be taken against it.

Regards
