Xavier,

After you find a part you need, you disconnect. First though, save the part into your personal library. Then you go off line. Works fine.

Yes I know that GD the problem with their latest release is that you can't start the program if you are not connected to the net try it you'll see. This is why I'm still using version 5.1

FYI. latest version 7.0.2 starts without being connected to internet.

I tried to tell him that, Karpiidi. You do have to do it to activate it properly but the connection is no longer required. If you want to add a cataloged part, you have to connect but otherwise it works fine off line.

A bad day at gold prospecting or metal detecting is better than a good day at work.

I can't blame them for trying to steer you towards buying their parts. The CAD program would normally cost thousands of dollars and you get it free. They generate a complete list of parts which you can order from them and even have a PC board made if you wish. All at reasonable cost. Not the cheapest but not objectionable. For me, not worth the time to save just a few dollars. Their prices are very competitive.

The only ones I find cheaper are the salvage and overstock places. Or Chinese rip offs.

There are a number of companies that are doing this.   What do you want for Free?  Someone spent years developing that soft ware.

I'm still using that version. You only have to do it once. You register to allow it to use their database on line if and when you want to add a part. If you don't do it that one time, it will ask you to do it each time you run it. Just do it. Get your free account set up and never have to do it again unless you want a new, exotic part added from their catalog.
