This is not a project for someone who has a limited budget and little experience. Due to timing issues and power requirements a large coil outfitted to an existing detector is impractical and will not yield the results most people think they will get. Believe it or not, designers don't build a detector and then design a coil for it. They start with the coil and design the detector around that. In the case of a large coil, it's even more critical to do that.
