Go Up Go Down

Hello ,

I am new to this forum and this site. I like to make electronic gadgets and my attention is now turned to PI metal detectors. I have made one for my grandson but he is not satisfied with the appearance of the machine and it does not perform well in so called "mineralised " ground.
What I plan to do is plagiarise the best of other detector circuits or try to adjust or modify kits  known to be of good quality.
I have found on the net the description and details of the "Hammerhead" detector dated 2005. The author says that a PCB is available from him by post but I do not know if this information is still current.
Does anyone know anything about this?
I would be most grateful.

Welcome to the forums.

First of all, don't lock a topic. That doesn't lock it on the page. What that does is disallow other comments and has to be unlocked by a moderator. Which I am doing now.

There are lots of schematics here and lots of discussions on your area of interest. Enjoy yourself.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Why on earth would you want to modify a detector that works well is beyond me. There are a lot of kits that you can buy at a very good price, the link was given to you by Nickel_n  and all of these detectors work well. If your grand son dislikes the PI it because it can not discriminate.

Have fun

I forgot Silverdog did kit on that one.

They cost less then I could gather the parts for and all parts are of top quality.

His PCBs are top notch!

I bought his Long Board, Surf PI Kits and it Rocked.

Everything but the Case and Coil.

Even got the Knobs for the Pots!
