Heathkit GD-348

Go Up Go Down

My son (11) was asking about metal detectors so I pulled out the old Heathkit GD-348 my Dad & I built back in the '70's.

Unfortunately it's developed a few issues and needs fixing.   I found the schematics online, but I'd really like a copy of the original build manual & instructions.

Anyone have any idea about finding that?  I thought for sure all of that old Heathkit stuff would be posted as PDF's but most of what's out there is what the Ham Radio guys collected.

Thanks!

Do a search  with your favorite search engine for "Heathkit GD348 Manual".  They are available out there!   Good luck!

My first detector came from Heathkit also. I got mine back in the 60's it was a kitco, my dad and I put it together and the first coin I found was a 1899 Barber dime in the front yard of our farm house. If I remember correctly, the GD348 was more of a Gold and relic machine than a coin shooter.

I used my GD 348 mainly as a coin detector.  I did pretty well with it, considering the technology of the detector and of those days!    Detecting

I had an earlier version, the GD-48. It couldn't find its way to a coin if it sat on it!!
