I just pulled my old judge2 out and removed the three aa battery packs and put three 9 volt batteries in the unit and wala it works like a charm. You may want to try that since the original aa packs were so hard to manipulate in and out of the unit. The 9 volts are easy to get in and out also packed some bubble wrap in the holder to keep them stable.

Isn't there a strong possibility of burning out your board if you use batteries that were not intended for your detectors circuit?   Shocked
