Turn the Dicrim off.  If it still does it, you have a Coil problem.  Bad Wire or connector.  Have you checked if the connector is good? One pin loose or not making and it can do that.

I have a Fortune Hunter made by Bounty Hunter and have had the same problem that developed after several years of use. Mostly when the batteries get a little low, or I use standard 9v instead of alkaline. Also turning the sensitivity down if you are near electrical (EMI) fields helps a lot. Bad connections at the plug/socket pins or dirt in the controls is another source.

A bad day at gold prospecting or metal detecting is better than a good day at work.

Golddustcarl   Thanks so much for your suggestions
I will get some new alkaline batteries and take another look at the search coil connections and cleaning the pots.

I bought the detector at a garage sale and suspect its had a problem from the beginning. It looks new with no marks or scratches.

I pulled out the logic board and its dated 10/15/03. It boots up normally but soon after begins its random beeping even with the search coil plug disconnected.

I will let you know if I make any progress

Thanks Again

Ed4TnT

If you don't have a manual, I have a electronic PDF version. I tried to post it here but the site says it is to large. I can e-mail it to you if like. Just send

Do not post email address on the open forum

I have a LS Camo and yes it goes goofy if the batteries are low.  Especially if in decrim mode.  Batteries may be the issue.
