Tons of ideas and products here. They call them adjusters.

Looks like a piece of flat stock with two holes would work. Just hand form and smooth to work.

Thanks oRo, I will look through the catalog with the adjustables in it.  I think I can make it work but might need to buy at least one part or two to make the bungee adjustable, the plastic parts make sense to avoid damaging/scratching detector will drop a photo by Tuesday/Wednesday.

Ok here are the pictures.  It took about 5 minutes to make!  I made the sling with stuff I found in my work bench for free.  These slings/harnesses run from $30 and up!

Directions  Find 2 bungee cords, loop one around detector, connect the other one to it.  Then connect to travel/luggage strap.  The luggage strap goes around the back of your neck like a tie and hangs down.

Benefits: Removes stress from arm/hand.  Allows you to take a break without setting detector down.  This is a simple modification and any added ideas for improvement can be added.  Even if you needed to buy the parts probably around $5-$10.   Cool  If you enlarge picture you have to move bar around on bottom to see the whole picture, But it does give you a great close up this way!

' Allows you to take a break without setting detector down.' Smiley

Nice looking rig. I had not thought of using it as a sling to hold the detector as well as when swinging. I use a #2 shovel as a walking stick in one hand so my detector usually keeps the other hand busy. Sometimes I have to make the decision of either throwing down the shovel or the detector when falling. Huh? Having it 'sling-ed' would be much better., Thanks for the idea.

i know I'm light years late on a post for this subject, but if you go to home depot or a like home supply company,go to the lawn and garden section and buy a weed wacker harness!!!!7 bucks!!!!! totally adjustable and they work just fine,it has a clamping device that fits around the detector shaft and is 100% secure .              i have one i use when i do 8 hour plus hunts.

Good idea and thanks for sharing.  The price doesn 't sound bad at all.  I'm sure some people will appreciate the idea very much.
