Go Up Go Down

This is my first project and I'm going to build a PI metal detector that can go very deep (15 feet). Do you have a link to the PCB?
Also , I need to make a custom 5 feet coil for it too.

Welcome to the Forum.   Please drop into the New Users thread with a Introduction ?

What would you be looking for 15ft down ?   That would require a SIZABLE target for any machine.

Hi homefire,
I'm looking for tunnels and cavity in a cave. But it may contain some big chambers containing bronze, hemlets and some jewelries. The chambers can be as big as a mini cooper car. That's what I've been told.

The older Whites TM808 had a Cave Mode.  No Longer Made with that capability.   If your wanting to DIY a PI I know of none with the Void or Cave feature.  Something like the Deepers / Sniffer XR71 with 1m coil could find targets like that.   Plenty have been made.

Thank you. The kit seems to detect objects up to 5m depth. I'll look for the parts and coild design.

  Nothing Special about the Coil.

The original searchcoil of the delta pulse was measured at 1000 uh [micro-heny] inductance.
Try not go below 2.4 ohms dc resistace on your search coil. As you can see on the schematic
      R51 has been added [1 ohm 1 watt]in series with T1 [IRF740]for current protection .

      A 60 cm coil is 25 turns of 0.5 mm wire .
a 42 cm coil is 29 turns of 0.5 mm wire . Always measure final DC resistance on your prototype
search coil and always try to be above 2.4 ohms . You can put a heat sink on T1 !!
      be above 2 ohms !!

Thanks for the hints. Does it matter if I design a square shape coil?

That is what they used.  1 x 1 meter I think.
