here is the tarsus vlf metal detector in stripboard. i designed using stripboard magic as a start then onto diy layout creator. now you can build without having a pcb.

Hello dBanner , Excellent Work  !!!!

Do you have the schematic and Search coil Data ?  

I saw the video on you tube , I like the flashing LED Display !!! Air tests look Good too .

Hello Dbanner,

Very interesting circuit, and simple, too.
Probably could adjust the Colpitts oscillator and receiver preamp freq. for any coil you have on hand.

I don't think its a collpitts, more like a hartley. The 12 turns in the Tx coil(as per construction details of the search head) being the feedback loop.

OK, I didn't see a feedback loop on the schematic. If it's a Hartley, then the coil one uses would be more restricted, but it's still an interesting circuit.
Thanks too, for the idea of using strip circuit boards - I've never tried that before.
