I would ask forum members to help me with the repair of this detector, Minelab E-TRAC.
I bought a detector, but it does not work, when it switches itself on just shut up and nothing more, I doubt this IC circuit, but it's wiped out and there are no tags, or you might have some other idea of what could be wrong.
There is no service in our country, and it is expensive to send it to UK.
Maybe one of you has repaired or has a scheme.
Thank you.

Hello gagi1.

Sometimes we do not have a schematic or can not get one. A lot you can do if you own or have a good Volt meter or DVM . You need to check Voltages on all the components . There are voltage regulators and transistors that go bad. Check for cold solder joints and check voltages at all the connectors.
If anything does not look right, then type in the part number and look up the SPEC SHEET / DATA on the part. A lot you can do and there is a good chance you can fix it yourself and have fun. You may have to order parts in your country, but you will save money by doing it yourself.

Thank you for sharing and keep us posted on your progress !!!

Regards.............Eugene

Thanks Eugene52
If I had a volt meter and I checked everything, there were no bad connections for cold soldering, but I do not know the characteristics of the parts because they have been deleted from them, so I do not even know the voltages.
I replaced the parts for which I could read the labels.
That I am a hobbyist and I will inform you about the progress.
Respect.

some of the ML detectors will not turn on if the power supply voltage is more than the detector was designed for.
if its a 12v unit put (a set of rechargeable batteries) ~11,5v and try
before you pull the detector apart.

I don't remember the type of chip.
It looks like cd to 4004.
However, they are logical gates.
One of these activates a transistor that will give 5V to the system
