hello friends. Hello is good idea,  Clapp ,or not Thumbs Down  ,and effective against the electrical interference and electromagnetic, and other paint with graphite, all coil (pi) on the outside, as I show in this photo, and as an example? ou'existe another product better, for the same effect? what? and which do not disappear with moisture and water.
very grateful.

Don't paint the underside. Just the top of the coil. You want to limit the amount of shielding on the side where you want full emissions.

Elaborate, GD, for the curious novice (me) how does graphite help?

In my opinion, it probably won't do much but resistors are made of carbon and graphite paint is carbon that can be painted on. As I said, the hemisphere of the coil that faces the ground should be kept clear. It would be safe to paint the top hemisphere. I didn't wish to discourage him from trying something that might just work. I do have my doubts but there's absolutely no harm in doing it as long as he keeps the bottom of the coil free of carbon paint.

thank you for the answers Great. then, paint I alone, the entire coil, in 50%, and the top part, and that is, facing the ground, there paint?!
someone already fis the same process? paint, just out of the box, coil?
I repeat: I will have better performance in detecting, Detecting and I'm free from all interference? or just some? and what?

You might have better performance. There's no guarantee. Your coil may already be shielded inside of its plastic housing and your paint will make no difference at all.

Paint only the portion of the coil that faces away from the earth. Don't paint the lowe portion that faces the ground.

Would you suggest doing this on a VLF coil too?

Honestly, Xavier, I don't think it will make a bit of difference but the question was how to do it, not whether or not it will work.

Yes I think that my question was not put properly I should have said to a VLF coil that has not been shielded. I used a graphite spray on two of my coils and they behaved very badly after I applied the graphite. I did leave a gap in the shield. I think that we should cut this post and name a new one called VLF shielding with graphite.
