   Went ahead and built a Mock Up of the TX Front End.  All as in the  Build Document Part for Part.

This will allow me to play with the coils.

       Guess I need to order some wire.  28 AWG is close but no cigar.

As Per 101 Document:


Diameter: 255mm x 137 mm (one coil)
Wire size: .25mm (30 AWG) enameled
Tx inductance: 6.0mH
Tx resistance: 18 – 25 Ohms
Tx resonance - About 14.5 kHz
Rx Inductance: 6.5mH
Rx resistance 18 – 25 Ohms
Rx resonance with 15nF – About 16.1 kHz


Experimental Coil
5 inch coil form
28 AWG wire.  
Turn count unknown.

Double Wire Strand  Experiment Fail

rx  13.8  Ohms    6.18  uH  Yeild   14.011  Khz

Single Wire Strand
tx   22.1   Ohms   5.89  uH  Yeilds  14.365 Khz  Pretty Dang Close.  10 more turns would probably get it.  Ran out of wire.

  Nickel it's one of the Cheapo Chines Toys.  Sorta my GO TO for playing with Coils.  Inductance, Resistance  and Freq in one gizzmo.  You have to modify the one connector the one it comes with lasted about two day and failed.  They come with NO Connection provisions for the Freq Input.  Your on your own on that. I just drilled a hole and stuck a RCA jack in it. Old RCA Video cables make fine test leads, eeea ?

   Wire is hard to come buy here unless you order it from some place.  No body in down carries Magnet Wire or even anything under 18 AWG.   I use to be able to obtain it from a ol guy with  Jim'a  Electrical shop. They Rewound Motors.  He retired and the folks that took over arn't ol school.  Won't deal with it.  Can't figure out how to charge me for 100ft of wire.  LOL

Check out my Professional Mod.  LOL   I put three cleggy clip wire to it.  Life was good again.

  Handy little thing.    My  eyes hate those blue 1% resistor color codes.  With that thing I just clip on the resistor and push the button.  Bingo.

Found an idx ro lcd kit with extra LCD with chips a gmt super cobra board with chips there are 3 Baron boards plus the working base baron about 5 coils the Nautilus is a working detector just needs a rod has coil,a chance pi I think it has a vdi with it a mini pulse kit lots of components switches pots housings have to find a bigger box for the coils and detectors I've almost found all of it there is an igsl assembled if you could test it and see if it's ok and let me know what coil to use and a king cobra assembled needs testing and see what coil to use.some battery holders rod parts small pieces nuts washers knobs almost ready to ship the ones I'm wanting to use are the sniffer x71 ,arc Geo logger mini,and tgsl and maybe the igsl if it works the rest are your toys.lol

**  Please retain the Sniffer X71 and Geo Logger at this time. DO NOT SHIP.    Only include the other two you wish to have returned.  Let me deal with the TGSL and IGSL first.  They are basically the Same circuits.  The IGSL was set up to enable the use of the Minelab Musketeer Coils.  I will need to do some more home work on that puppy but should have it covered.
