Can someone help me please? I recently bought a Minelab Sovereign--First model
"The Sovereign".The machine had not been set-up for multi tone (It just needed the jumpers moving-done)

I noticed that it did not have a "sheild box" arround the board (with the paperclip and wire) Anybody know if this model had one?

I have thought on making a box surround (card) and lining the outside
with EMI COPPER FOIL SHIELDING TAPE.And linking with a soldered paperclip and wire to
ground on the board. I have not really used the machine enough to experience EMI but
as the later machines had this fitted (dont know if mine should have)I
thought this addition may be of some benefit in the future.

Do you reckon its worth doing?         Thanks. Detecting

Amazed with all this posts views that that I have not had any replies.
Am I only one still running a pre XS Sov?? "THE SOVEREIGN"

Have since found out this was the only model not fitted with an emi sheild box--

Decided on making an emi box anyway---just need to find a suitable earth point

somewhere? on the back of the switch board??

Congrats chopZ54,

She's a real minty looking machine!
Many say they prefer the older units like yours and the Sov XS over the newer units, and I give these guys credit since they have used them all.

Congrats on a superb detector & good luck with it!  Great

Jim
