The 78S40 is a switch mode voltage regulator controller for developing a stable 3v output for low power microcontroller use. Unless that microcontroller is used to turn the audio on and off, it may be unrelated to the blown capacitor. When you say it was blown, was the capacitor physically damaged or just not working?

If you are not a technician, troubleshooting a switch mode regulator may be out of the realm of possible here on a forum. They are very complicated beasts. You'd need an oscilloscope and good quality multimeter to do it along with some specialized knowledge on how they work.

By the way, because that model doesn't use a microcontroller, I suspect you may have misread the part number on the device next to the capacitor. Is it perhaps a 78S05?

Sorry, Bill. Looks like I don't have anything to help you. I have 4 different Coinmaster 6000 Di schematics and none have that part on them.

I know this is an old thread, but someone else might read it in the future and it could be of some help. Here are 2 photos of my 6000/DI series 2. Hope this helps some one.

Thanks for the Effort but the Schematic was the Issue.  We have a few versions of it but not the one he needed.
